친구와 나는 패스트푸드점에서 주문할 차례를 기다리고 있었다.
A friend and I were standing in line at a fast-food restaurant, waiting to place our order.

 

 

가게에는 커다란 안내문이 걸려 있었다. '20달러를 넘는 고액 지폐는 받지 않습니다.'
There was a big sign posted. 'No bills larger than $20 will be accepted.'

 

우리 앞에 서 있던 여자가 안내문을 가리키며 말했다.
The woman in front of us, pointing to the sign, remarked,

 

 

"내가 20달러를 넘는 지폐가 있으면 여기서 밥을 왜 먹겠어."
"Believe me, if I HAD a bill larger than $20, I wouldn't be eating here."
