이상군의 웃음충전소│세금

 

꼬마 빌리가 100달러를 너무나 갖고 싶어 하느님께 돈을 달라고 편지를 썼다.
Little Billy wanted $100 badly, so he wrote God a letter requesting the money.

 

 

미국에 사는 하느님 앞으로 부친 편지를 받은 우편당국은 이를 대통령에게 보내기로 했다.
When the postal authorities received the letter addressed to God, USA, they decided to send it to President.

 

 

대통령은 매우 재미있어하며 비서를 시켜 빌리에게 5달러 지폐 한 장을 보내라고 했다.
The President was so amused that he told his secretary to send Billy a $5.00 bill.

 

 

그 정도면 어린 소년에게는 큰 돈일 거라고 생각해서다.
He thought this would appear to be a lot of money to a little boy.

빌리는 5달러를 받고 기뻐하며 하느님께 감사 편지를 썼다:
Billy was delighted with the $5.00 and wrote a thank you note to God, which read:

 

 

하느님, 돈을 보내주셔서 고맙습니다. 그런데 무슨 이유에선지 워싱턴DC를 통해서 보내셨더군요. 늘 그렇듯이 그놈들이 95달러나 떼어갔어요. 빌리 드림.
Dear God, Thank you for sending the money. However, I noticed that for some reason you had to send it through Washington D.C. and, as usual, those crooks deducted $95.00. Billy.
